H&R Block Tax Prep App Reviews

I waited to last minute, didnt have access to my last email account used and no computer. The app allowed me to over come all these obstacles. The camera feature is not helpful, I had to manually enter. Still very convenient.

This app crashed again and again. I have used H&R Blocks apps for years to file taxes and always found it easy to use. This time it was so frustrating that I will not be returning. First, they tell you about all these fancy features of their premium version, but what they dont tell is that if you have any income besides a W2 then you must upgrade. After I had entered my W2s 3 times manually (because of crashing) and got to the 1099, I found this out. Then it was so difficult to try to e-file because of constant crashing that we ended up mailing the taxes in. Extremely frustrating to use. What a disappointment. Oh, and the fancy new "add W2 from a photo" simply does not work. If you havent filed already, find some other tax software to use. This one is junk.

Only issue was getting the 2015 E-File PIN for Fed which wasnt too bad.

This is very HR Block app is very misleading. They make you believe you can file for free but once you get going, certain credits to claim are not available in the free file. They force you to pay $39.99 to file federal and another $29.99 to file state. The w-2 download does not work. It had my income 100,000 higher than what it actually is. Imagine my shock at a huge tax amount owing of this were the case. Save your money and time and go to IRS website for the free file companies they suggest. They actually ARE free and you dont have to pay extra for anything extra!

Ive used your app for many years and been very satisfied but I have given up trying this year to make it work and I probably wont be back. First it wanted to skip over all my student loan interest but I was able to back it up and enter it forcibly. That was bad enough. If I hadnt known to look for it I would have missed out on the deduction, and its supposed to be one of your top benefits that you think of the questions for us and prevent these missed opportunities. What really was the last straw was the HSA account entry. I have a form 5498-SA but it wouldnt allow me to enter it in any possible method I could determine. Also it asked me if the HSA total was or was not included in box 1 of my W2. Yes? Maybe? How the h would I know that? It doesnt say it anywhere and theres no explanation. Then it kept giving me an error saying Weve detected excess contributions but it doesnt explain what that means or what I should do about it. What is excess? Whats the dollar limit and how did I exceed it? It wanted me to check one of a series of boxes saying I contributed too much, but if I did how would I know? I contributed what my employer said I could, or actually a good bit less than that. What is making you think its "excess"? It wanted me to enter a fair market value for the account, which is on the 5498, but again, there is no way to input the info. There is no way that I could find to clear that error message, not even a way to say yup I owe a billion dollars, just sock it to me and lets move on.

Fast, easy and free

This app was so user-friendly! i had the easiest time filing. Turbo said I was getting a amount back I knew was way too low so I stopped and filed with h&r . The amount I got back was over 500 more then turbo tax first quoted me. Ill always use H&R for now on. Was so simple to file & very affordable . I never write reviews but I was so satisfied I felt It was only right to give credit when credit is due... Good luck everyone

This made filing my taxes a breeze. It told me exactly what I needed, which steps were next, and each part of the process was clearly outlined, and everything was done on mu phone! Im going to use this again. I love this.

App crashes when trying to get IRS e-file PIN. Fix it suggestions are helpful but confusing. Thanks for the great app to file my taxes!

Wont let me out of agreement page. "Our license agreement has changed since the last time you visited. Read and agree to the conditions before continuing." I tap the check box and it takes me to separate page with license agreement. Every time tap close it takes me to the top of the license agreement. I close the app, log in again and Groundhog Day! Ive tried 8 times.

I loved using the app to file my taxes. It was fast and easy. I will definitely do this again next year!

Ive been using H&R Block online for years. Having an app for that makes it even better! I love being able to enter data when, where, and on whichever device I please. Tablet, phone, PC. Thank you!!

It was so convenient and reassuring to use! The fact that I cld pick up where I left off on my iPad to my iPhone was fantastic!

Very easy to use in 2014, 2015 was 2X easier with 2014 info imported.

The app is so user friendly that you can zoom through your taxes, easy peasy!

Makes taxes easy highly recommended
