H&R Block Tax Prep: File Taxes Examine App

Not only did it keep deleting all of my information on my w-2 and making me redo it but it also is trying to charge me for some deluxe package that I never clicked on!!!!! And it told me I made money on my taxes and owed nothing then out of nowhere said I OWED OVER $3000!!!!! Now I have to find an in person place to do this which means more paperwork for me!

Understand that once you enter information this Apple choose to keep information you wanna delete and there’s no way to start fresh with new information. The edit button is a joke. There’s this cash money sign that’s blocking information so it’s hard to read, and you cannot move it out of the middle of the screen!

H&R Block has been my go to for taxes in the most recent years. This year however was the first time I’ve had an issue. I submitted payment to the IRS following the process in the system and provided proper documentation for it to be deducted and then ended up getting mail saying that it was never processed for whatever reason and I had to send payment another way. Now I am receiving more mail after sending in the payment via check. I’m not sure what occurred but I am not happy about it. This is something that also happened to other people I know .

Filed taxes but the site is very confusing. At the end when filing, It makes you think you file when there is still more steps further. The tracking is off. We are missing exactly $1280 from the total we were supposed to get back and no where on the site can I see why we are missing that much. Last year my husband (was bf then) thought he filed because the site said he filed but he actually didn’t file his taxes because of the additional steps to really submit the taxes. The site needs more attention.

Filing my taxes causes me MAJOR stress!!!! This all made it easy and took a ton of pressure off!!!

Why the constant stream of notifications after I’ve filed and gotten my refund? This app is so annoying. They just saw my review about too much contact and sent me an email asking to call me.

Getting forced to pay the tax fees over and over again can’t get to the part to actually file! Rip off!

“All sales are final” and for some reason that only shows up after they force you to pay for a product you don’t want!!!! (don't be fooled if they say you can contact them! They won't do anything for you!) The company deals with money and times are hard so it makes sense criminals always show themselves in times like this! They are intentionally deceitful and will under no circumstances refund you. PRO TIP: if you need to downgrade to the free version you HAVE to call. But I will NEVER bother to because they are liars and are openly stealing with no remorse. DONE WITH H&R Block. Losers

The app was not user friendly. Then they charge $48 for a refund transfer fee.

Does not remember log in preferences. Does not remember saved devices. Also cannot view tax status info, that is not supported in app.

Easy to use and helpful, except that I never stay signed in and sometimes when I come back to the app, clicking any of the sign-in options will take me to a blank page

I used the tax prep app and tried to file my taxes. I owed, so I used hrblock’s online method to pay my federal taxes, and I got an extension. The sw does not recognize that I paid my federal taxes through their method and keeps asking me to pay my federal taxes again. I called and the person at customer service said to give it a couple of days to let it recognize and did not understand my problem at all. And also, it’s been over 2 weeks and the sw still thinks I owe my taxes even though I have receipts from the irs that I don’t.

At every opportunity, some ad is shoved in your face for some premium service at a cost. If you accidentally select one, it will be added to your checkout with no way on undoing it. Ridiculous and predatory

i filed my taxes on february 20th and they’re still pending which makes no sense it’s been so long and i wish i would have just paid. i’m sure they would be done by now.

I would give a zero if possible. This is the first year I have had complaints…. However, I have been trying to get assistance to refill a correction for over a week. No one returns calls, emails or responds to chat. I was on phone with a rep who gave me absolutely no help. Today is the deadline to mail (too late to efile the correction now ) and NO ONE CAN ANSWER A SIMPLE Question RE: clarification of what the form is asking. I’m a therapist, not a tax professional. The fees for service include support and we received zero.

I made barely enough money to have to file taxes this year, then they want to take out 60 dollars for filling out a form and then 42 more for taking the money from my refund instead of up front. Then, they said they can’t file it electronically because they can’t verify my identity, so I have to print it out and mail it. I am really failing to see the 100 dollars of work they’ve put in to take my hard earned money. ABSURD.

But 3 years in a row it’s taken longer to get my taxes back than other years. I still don’t have my 2024 refund as of today.

Basically all you can do on the app is file a basic tax return. You can’t access your past returns. You have to go to the website for that. They need to do better.

How do you erase and start over option. Huh where’s that at. So mad ugh

Why

Somewhat difficult to navigate. It was very choosy about which forms it would intake. Caused a lot of difficulty. I gave up on it and went and paid a tax guy to do it.

I had to restart the app many times and half the time it wouldn’t even open. Super frustrating, especially when I’m trying to do taxes which is already frustrating.

This is a horrible tax return service. Nothing is intuitive. I had to keep going back to see what I missed and figure out why the instructions made no sense. And then. I thought I’d paid what I owed. It said I did. I sent back. It said to pay what you owe. Google it! I wish the feedback would let me attach that ridiculous statement. But what are my options? Tax web pages only exist in America because no other country is so stupid. We have to pay companies who are idiots to rob us because we don’t believe in competent government

Turbo tax was easier to use.

I downloaded this and it doesn’t open on my iPhone

It was easy to file but a 2 FA authentication should be sent only phone numbers,emails get hacked So it’s a 4 star

I don’t know why but half the time pulling up the app you just get a blank screen. The actual website is much user friendly.

Taxes don’t need to be hard. H&R took all the stress out of tax season!

I was charged to do my state taxes and I was charged for two separate states even though I only filed one state that you put on MN instead of MO. Never even got to e-file but got double charged for filing. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

There’s no way around paying 100$ to send my taxes to some random person in India to file for my ONE CRYPTO TRANSACTION. ITS SO SIMPLE. I DO NOT NEED SOMEONES HELP H&R. I filed in 2021 with no issue with crypto trades. All of a sudden it costs 100$ tho. Wack.

I did my taxes myself and it’s been a few weeks now and it still saying it’s pending. I tried to find out why and no one will answer me that because I did it myself. I just want to know what should I do. Am I missing something. No help at all. I even said I would pay the $29 but because my taxes are already done they can’t help me. No help at all.

Honestly, your service works great, but the constant push notifications to file my taxes, even though I’ve already filed my goddamn taxes is really frustrating and almost at this point enough to make me switch to TurboTax. Something to consider.

I filed my 2023 taxes with HR Block and paid the fees but HR Block never filed the return and now won’t help solve the problem they created. They won’t return the fees I paid even though they didn’t file the return

Great easy to use tax app

I started a tax return earlier today, took a break to cook dinner and get kids in bed. Went back to the app and it won’t work at all. Restarted phone, checked to make sure the app was updated, still not working. I’ll have to go another route to get my taxes done today.

Ease of use and simplistically informative.

Field 8 is blank and the app won’t stop asking for it no matter how many times I hit “remove” or “delete”. It keeps asking me to fill it out. I’ve restarted the app, tried starting all over, and still… nothing. I had to file for an extension because of this. I won’t be using the app again next year.

After completing everything to file my taxes, the app has a technical error that prevents me from finalizing. Massive waste of time and energy.
